Introduction from a Portlander (Oregon, that is!)

Hi,

Albert Kaufman, WSUC Class of 1984 here! Nice to see a listing for our school!

I'm out in Portland, Oregon. If any of you have good business contacts in the fields of marketing, PR or broadcasting and want to send them my way, I'd be appreciative. And yes, I miss the falafel, too. There is actually no decent Italian food in this town at all, though we do have Mt. Hood. One of my recent projects is the Mount Hood National Park campaign.

Check it out at

www.mounthoodnationalpark.org

Another project is leading the media tracking effort for John Kerry in Oregon.

All hands on board!
Roomy Wanted, Cheap Rent, Grammercy Park Area, Manhattan

Roomy Wanted, Cheap Rent, Grammercy Park Area, Manhattan

Hey All,

My current roomy is moving out Sept 1st and I’m looking for a NEW roomy. Please spread the word.

The Details:

2 Bedroom apartment in Gramercy Park Area (21st between 2nd and 3rd Ave). This is a very safe neighborhood with lots of hang out places and bars. The building is located across the street from a quiet police precinct and SVA (the school of Visual Arts). It’s close to the 6 train and numerous frequent busses. There is a gym run by the Parks Dept. only 5 blocks away which has the largest collection of free weights for a Parks Dept. gym(it also has a sizable pool). Only $75 to join for the year.

The bedrooms are small but the apartment as a whole is in great shape with exposed brick everywhere. The living room and kitchen are newly painted in soothing Japanese inspired colors. The Apt is fully furnished, but I’m willing to dispose of furniture as needed. I have a 32” SONY flat screen that is in the living room for common use.

The real kicker is the neighbors are paying 2 grand a month for the same apartments above and below me and I’m paying 1450.

I’d like to split the rent in HALF and all utilities.

I have the lease through December with an option to renew; rent subject to increase at that time.

What I’m looking for in a roomy:

Clean! I’m a NY State Licensed Massage Therapist and I have to be able to see clients once or twice a month and the common areas must remain very neat.

Responsible and financially stable. The rent needs to be paid on time and in cash on the 20th of the prior month. I also need a $725 security deposit so my old roomy can get her deposit back.

Happy. Or at least not horribly depressed like too many New Yorkers. I’m not Mr. Bubbly Sunshine but unhappiness breeds unhappiness and I want to remain happy.

Stable. I need a roommate who wants to stay at the apartment at least through December. If I choose to leave after December you will have an option to renew the lease at whatever price the land lord is offering.

If you are interested or have any questions, feel free to e-mail me: josh@bujinkanNYC.org .

THANKS!

-Josh

Introductions

Thought I'd try to get some activity going...

I was at NYU back in 1998 going for a Music Technology bachelors degree (which was going to move towards a Film Scoring masters). But the music department was much more competitive than I'd expected... big fish in a small pond to a small fish in a big pond... and it ruined me. I left on a medical leave two months later and returned home.

While I was only there for a short period of time, I still have wonderful memories of the city, NYU, and my dorm on the 38th floor of the Water Street residence.

I'm hoping to return someday for my masters degree.

Who are you? :o)
